According to Amazon, the shipping charge is about $9.50 -- and it is deleted since the order is over $25.00. I am better off ordering the individual cartriges directly from Amazon. The advertised shipping charge of $7.95 became $32.00 when I ordered from Alaska. 8 puny cartriges that fit in an envelope ship for $32.00.
Wouldn't it be better if the buyer could know which cartridge he/she needs to have to complete the set. The Stylus R2400 printer uses 9 ink cartridges. This product offers 8, but does not identify the missing cartridge.
(Midwest Ink Supply). Just Google "MIS". Epson's ink is great but very expensive. I use a continuous flow system for my printer from MIS.
I have two other epson printers, one is the much older 800 which I took to work & am still using. I order online & save money that way. It does a phenominal job. Yes, the ink is hard to find. After much research into the Epson R2400 & R1800, I got the 2400.
I haven't been disappointed yet. It's not your ordinary printer but I don't want ordinary pictures. It is a high end printer & your ordinary big box stores doesn't want to mess with it. I print all my own pictures with the Epson. The epson is far superior to the canon. I am an amateur photographer & do lots of scrapbooking. I had a canon 9900 & I90 before. The printer gives you plenty of warning so you don't run out.
I am absolutely impressed with the quality of pictures. When I run out of one cartridge, I order 2 to replace it. You just have to make sure you set the print settings for the media you are using. The other is the R200 that I use for general printing & printing on my cd's & dvd's. I liked the tech support at canon but I love the epson printers & have never had to use tech support.
Well things did not get any better. You would be better off using crayons. Despite what should have been an obvious warning I proceeded to buy one online. What Epson won't tell you is the ink in this printer is not compatible with plain paper. After reading the reviews about the Epson R2400 I decided to purchase one of these printers.
Amazon can find you the ink through one of their camera suppliers and the 8 cartridge set is a good buy compared to buying the inks individually. So if you must own one of these nightmares at least have the common sense to buy your ink from Amazon. And believe me is it evident. Spare yourself from this kind of stupidity at all cost. But it all ends there. Calls to Epson only resulted in my blood pressure hitting the theoretical maximum. Alas all the headaches aside it makes a very nice photo printer. I searched for 2 days and drove 150 miles and nada.
I should have known it was going to be a huge mistake when I went to more than 5 major store chains and could not locate one. The next biggest nightmare is the inability to locate ink cartridges. If it were not for Amazon this printer would be long gone from my digital dark room. The so called Premium ICC profile didn't work and I had to spend a hour with tech support getting this resolved. Dont even try to print a document on plain paper using K3 Inks.
